This fall has been a long one with temperatures more similar to late summer than a true fall. And we are going to continue to get a little bonus summer for the next few weeks, the sun will be shining and the weather will be warm. This means keep your dry flies out.

The Snake River in Jackson will begin dropping flows to their winter levels which will occur over the next 4 days. There are a few different hatches going on right now so be sure to keep an eye out as to what these fish are eating. The BWO hatch is just finishing up and we are on the tail end of the Hecuba hatch. We are seeing plenty of September Stones and a whole bunch Mahogany's around. The streamer bite is getting hot and we expect it to just continue getting better!

The South Fork is also beginning to drop flows. Smaller foam patterns are working well with our favorites being September Stones and hoppers. Mahoganies are hatching over here as well and the nymphing has been good with perdigons and small BWO nymphs. So keep throwing your dry dropper rigs. The fish have been moving onto the shallower flats. Streamers are less consistent with highest productivity on overcast cloudy days, but the big fish will definitely move on them.

Enjoy this beautiful fall!
