Runoff continues here in Jackson Hole, but that does not mean we've stopped fishing! Cold conditions the past few weeks slowed the pace of runoff, but the warm summery weather of the past week have flows picking back up. Start getting your summer flies ready to go because it feels like we are almost there!
Everything down from Pacific Creek is blown out on the Snake in Jackson Hole, however Dam - Pacific Creek is fishing well. Small beadheads such as Duracells, Perdigons are working with fish holding in slower water. Vary the length of your rig based on the depth of water you are in.
The South Fork of the Snake recently bumped their flows and fish are on the move to their summer holding spots. We are finding them in bouldery water, and deeper slow eddies. Pats rubber legs (in advance of the salmon fly hatch), baetis nymphs and other trash bugs have been working well though depth of rig may require adjusting as the fish are moving daily.
The Green has had variable flows and may blow out shortly so keep monitoring them. However this usually means the worm fishing gets good off those muddy banks, so don't count out a chocolatey green river. Before it blows the streamer fishing has been great so get out and strip set some fish before turning to the worm.
Happy Almost June!
