Happy Fourth of July! Hope everyone has been able to get out and appreciate the great fishing we've had the past few weeks (shoutout public lands!). It has been warm and we have firmly launched ourselves into dry fly summer fishing. The bugs have been out and the fish are eating!

On the Snake in Jackson we have seen great dry fly action on foam and mayflies and bigger fish size than is normally seen this early in the season. Golden stones and yellow sallies have been out and fishing has been great on both big and small patterns, particularly with natural colors. Smaller mayfly patterns and larger drakes have also had success when the foam bite is slower.

There are salmon flies on the South Fork!! Salmon flies are all throughout the canyon and fish are eating both on the surface and the nymphs. On the lower section of the South Fork PMD's, green drakes and yellow sallies have been highly productive in shallower water and slow deep cuttie water. Medium sized foam has also been working. Since the salmon flies have moved up you can also expect fewer boats down on the lower sections. On the upper section of the South Fork we are still seeing success on beadheads and pats rubber legs on longer rigs with some weight. However after Irwin, riffles showed surface activity on mayflies and PMD patters.

The flows on the Green have been realtively consistent but be cautious of temperatures as the river has been getting dangerously warm towards ~2 pm. Drakes and PMD's have been out and fishing well but have also seen foam action on golden stone patterns and hoppers. Fish are looking up, though temperatures are going to drive when the fishing is the best.

Hope everyone enjoys the 4th and the fireworks!
