Our History

Westbank Anglers was founded on October 1, 1986, by Reynolds Pomeroy, Bettie Pomeroy, and Kim Vletas, launching its first catalog the following year. Over time, the company broadened its services to include international fishing outfitting, with trips to Argentina, New Zealand, Costa Rica, the Florida Keys, and notable U.S. destinations like Yellowstone National Park, the Green River, Flaming Gorge, the South Fork of the Snake River, and the Snake River itself.

In the early 2000s, Westbank hosted a well-regarded fly fishing school at Crescent H Ranch. Leadership changed in 2000 when D. Baker Salsbury acquired the company, and again in December 2022, when Mike Dawes and a group of investors took the helm. Following this transition, Westbank Anglers celebrated its grand reopening on May 12, 2023.

Westbank Anglers also has a rich history in the prestigious Jackson Hole One Fly tournament, winning two of the first three years. This included a 1986 victory with a lime Trude fly and more recently the 2023 Vern Bressler Top Pro taken home by Colin Ah. Throughout our history, Westbank Anglers remains dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of aquatic environments.
