Founded on October 1, 1986, Westbank Anglers has grown from a small Jackson Hole fly shop into one of the West's premier guided fly fishing outfitters and retail destinations. Established by Reynolds Pomeroy, Bettie Pomeroy, Kim Vletas, and Stephen Vletas, Westbank Anglers quickly earned a reputation for exceptional customer service, expert local knowledge, and a deep passion for fly fishing. With the release of its first catalog in 1987, the company expanded its reach while remaining firmly rooted in the Jackson Hole fly fishing community.

Today, Westbank Anglers is recognized as a leading Jackson Hole fly shop, offering premium fly fishing gear, apparel, and expert advice through its retail store in Wilson, Wyoming. In addition to our retail operations, we provide professionally guided fly fishing trips on some of the most renowned trout waters in the Rocky Mountain West, including the Snake River in Jackson Hole, the South Fork of the Snake River, Yellowstone National Park, and Wyoming's Green River.

Over the years, Westbank Anglers has expanded beyond Wyoming to offer international guided fly fishing trips to world-class destinations including the Seychelles, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, the Bahamas, and destinations throughout Africa. Whether fishing close to home or across the globe, our commitment to delivering exceptional angling experiences remains unchanged.

Westbank Anglers has also played a significant role in fly fishing education and guide development in Jackson Hole. In the early 2000s, we hosted a respected fly fishing school at Crescent H Ranch, helping anglers improve their skills on some of Wyoming's most iconic waters. Continuing that tradition, Westbank Anglers helped launch Wyoming's Guiding for the Future advanced guide school in 2025, further establishing our reputation as a leader in professional guide education and conservation-minded angling.

Ownership transitioned to D. Baker Salsbury in 2002 and again in December 2022 to Mike Dawes and a group of dedicated investors. The grand reopening of our Wilson, Wyoming, fly shop and retail store on May 12, 2023, marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter while honoring the legacy that has made Westbank Anglers a cornerstone of Jackson Hole guided fly fishing for nearly four decades.
