These smaller and lesser known fisheries offer some of the best Brown Trout fishing in our region.   The Green River is a much smaller river than the infamous Snake River, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with with the quality of the fishery.  The Green River originates in the Wind River Mountain range and flows all the way through Wyoming until in enters Utah in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The Green River flows through ranch land and sagebrush fields that are home to moose, mule deer, antelope and birds of many species. It offers a variety of species of trout, including cutthroat, rainbow, the hybrid cutt-bow, brown and brook trout. The season on the Green usually begins a month prior to the water clearing on the Snake, in mid-June.
