Happy June! The weather has been a little cooler this past week, but fishing hasn't slowed. With river flows starting to drop and water clarity improving, we’re entering prime time. Salmon Flies are showing up in better numbers, and foam flies have been moving fish consistently. Expect action to keep picking up as temps rise again heading into the weekend.
The South Fork of the Snake is holding steady around 12,000 cfs and continues to fish well. Water clarity is improving and we’re seeing more fish looking up. Banks, riffles, and shallows are all producing. While streamer fishing has slowed slightly, topwater foam action has taken off. Subsurface nymphing remains productive—just make sure to adjust depth with split shot or tungsten.
Flows on the Green River near Pinedale have dropped significantly, now sitting around 1,000 cfs. Water is clearing fast and fishing is picking up each day. The system is on the verge of turning on completely. A mix of bugs are coming off and fish are responding well to well-placed foam and dropper rigs. Warmer weather in the coming days should continue to open up more water.
The Snake River is still running cool at around 2,000 cfs but is fishing surprisingly well given the conditions. Below Flat Creek is showing around 5,500 cfs. Fish are holding in classic early-season spots—slow seams, troughs, and soft water near structure. As clarity improves and temperatures stabilize, expect dry-dropper setups to become more productive.
