Green River Fishing report New fork brown trout

Pinedale WY New Fork Brown Trout

Our Jackson Hole fly fishing guides report current Pinedale Wyoming fishing conditions.  The Pinedale fishing report includes Green River fishing conditions, as well as New Fork River fishing conditions.

The Pinedale, Wyoming area is home to many streams and lakes. Highlights are the  Green River and the New Fork. The Green is a great river for all, while the New Fork is for the more seasoned angler, 12 hour days are not uncommon. These smaller and lesser known fisheries offer some of the best Brown Trout fishing in our region.   The Green River is a much smaller river than the infamous Snake River, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with with the quality of the fishery.  The Green River originates in the Wind River Mountain range and flows all the way through Wyoming until in enters Utah in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The Green River flows through ranch land and sagebrush fields that are home to moose, mule deer, antelope and birds of many species. It offers a variety of species of trout, including cutthroat, rainbow, the hybrid cutt-bow, brown and brook trout. The season on the Green usually begins a month prior to the water clearing on the Snake, in mid-June.
