Snake River
The fishing on the Snake River has seen a noticeable improvement in the last few days. We are starting to see bigger fish rising aggressively to hoppers and large dry flies throughout the day. The majority of the action has been in the heart of the day(10-4), but mornings have also been productive with late evening being the slowest part of the day. Smaller Parachute Adams and attractor dry flies have also been very consistent, .
South Fork of the Snake River
The fishing on the South Fork continues to be good, but it requires much more effort than other area rivers, skilled anglers are having better success. Fishing small dries in the riffles continues to produce the best results, but the fish have become much more picky about what they are eating. Lighter tippets and small size #16-#18 dry flies have rewarded skilled anglers. Although the fish are more selective they are still eating mayflies and early morning Caddis, with PMD spinners and emergers being the most effective. Foam can also be a good option later in the afternoon when temperatures really start to heat up. There is some construction up at the damn so anything below Husky would be the best bet.
