After a long May with much needed moisture, summer feels like it is finally here. Most rivers in the local Jackson Hole area are high and muddy, but we still have some decent reports from other rivers within a short drive. The Lakes in Yellowstone, high mountain streams, and the South Fork of the Snake have all been fishing pretty well, while most other rivers are close to its run off peak.
The Jackson Lake Dam is releasing water at 4000cfs. With these summer like temperatures the river has almost doubled by the time it gets to Moose measuring at 8700cfs. The Green River has spiked from 1000cfs on Saturday to 1860cfs as of this afternoon.
I think it is safe to say we are now officially in run off season. This can be a great time to get out there, and explore some other rivers. As I said last week we are close to clear water, and happy fish. Its just a matter of time. Some rivers can change day to day, so be sure to give us a call for the latest news.
