Here is a beautiful 20 inch Snake River fine spotted cutthroat trout. The colors speak for themselves but quite frankly, the picture does not do it justice. Local Angler Sophie, was trekking along one of the Snake River tributaries a short time before sunset, when she came upon a picture perfect hole with a deep cut along a rocky bank. The day had been slow and not much was hatching on a river where the water flow was not optimal. So, after little luck with a few dries, she switched to the classic hopper dropper rig. Sophie set up a perfect drift as she watched her fly closely and with a meditative focus. Seconds before the strike were tense, anticipating a feed on one of the “meals” she prepared. BOOM! HOOKSET!!! FISH ON!!! The fight seemed as though it last forever. The fish was not giving up easily. Jumping and swimming towards the rocky bank to release the fly from the corner of it’s mouth is all he had in mind. But Sophie denied the 20 plus incher of his escape to the depths. These mature fish are starting to show there faces on there way to the big river. So come into Westbank Anglers and grab the imitations needed to conquer the monsters.
